Pilar Cave

If you want a hair-raising experience to unfold mysteries way back from Spanish era hid in a mystic cave - the Pilar Cave suits your taste. If you love exploring such place with a history from past era, this cave is a perfect place for you.

The cave is thought to be the burial site of Filipinos long before the dawn of Spanish era because of the pot artifacts that were discovered within its grounds. A mystery that has been unfolded as time goes by that the place had been visited by many tourist and some historians.
About two years ago, townspeople discovered earthen pots with intricately incised designs. The caves must heve been burial sites of pre-Spanish Filipinos. At the Balisong Cave where the Capiz Revolucionarios routed the Spanish soldiers. At the side of the cave is a spectacular sight of a mountain. A greyish black rock rises up to 200 ft. to the sky. Plants, orchids among them hang from the cliffs, blooming in the summer and filling the air with fragrance.

Napti Island

Have you ever seen a beach that is exactly like Boracay Island?An island that is about three to four hectares big, located near Olutayan Island. It has a white sand just exactly a perfect replica of the white-powder-like-sand of Boracay.  The island also has small cave and abundant shells for necklaces. There is one island that has also the beauty of  Boracay Island, it has also white sand beaches and the most better fact is, it is not as crowded and more peaceful than Boracay Island.  It almost took an hour from a boat ride from barangay banica boat port n Roxas City,  this barangay is blessed with serene shores with white sand mixing with corals washed ashore by strong waves, Olotayan Beach offers a tranquil and relaxing experience. If you have a hassle and stress living with the busy life in the city, it is the best place to unwind and relax.

With clear waters and a rural setting, where sea waves and occasional laughter’s from kids playing at a distance, this place really fits for a perfect place for a honeymoon, or if you are one of those busy businessmen, it is a great gate away to nature and feel the calmness of the island.



With relatively few visitors and tourists visiting the area, the place remains as placid and native all through the years.  Despite its short distance from the city, the place has maintained its rustic view, thus giving visitors an opportunity to be close to nature.  With most native folks still adhering to rural way of life, the most sophisticated tourists will find ways to commune with Mother Nature and a chance to get back to the basic of living and witness for themselves the way it used to be with no cars, large buildings and other infrastructures the city have. Others who lives and who have gone to this place called it mini Boracay because of the clear waters, especially white sand beaches. Trully belongs to tourist spots in capiz.

Olotayanons are blessed to settle here in such a beautiful place. Despite of living away from the city, the people here are contended to live in such a simple life. You can simply notice the hospitality of the people by showing their smiles and warm greetings as you stroll around the island.

Most of the men in the island is often busy doing or rather fixing their fish nets or boats. If you try to walk along the small cemented-footway, you can probably met kids playing with everyone; witnessing their innocent smile makes you feel how they are happy to have such life. You will also notice some teens carrying their laundry to help their mothers. Olotaynons are productive even with their own little and significant way of living.

Ring the bell.. @Panay

Sta. Monica Parish church is one of the great tourist spots in Capiz. It was declared as National Heritage by the National Historical Commission in 1997. According to history Pan-ay is exactly located on plain and fertile land irrigated by the rivers of Panay. The climate is rather humid due to the abundant nipa fields and being located in low sea level. It’s bounded by the sea of Mindoro, Pontevedra and the town of Capiz. It was known to be housing the biggest bell in Asia Panay is has the only capability to challenge Dumangas distinction of being the first town to have received the faith.

Panay belongs to the Baroque chruch in the Philippines. The pediment cascades gracefully down. The façade
is ornamented with swags of flowers, niches and statuary. The bell tower to the left of the
façade is simple in contrast to the façade. It base in planned as a quadrilateral but its
upper stories are octagonal with the two sides longer than the other. The interior was
formerly divided into a central nave with flanking aisles, but in recent years, the wooden
post that marked the divisions was removed to improve sight lines to the altar. This floor
has been reconstructed in reinforced concrete with coral stone facing the roof of the
church, already damaged by a storm in 1984 and subsequently repaired, was already in a
dilapidated condition in 2000. The church retains much of its original floor terra
cottatiles, white marbles and black slate as accents and floor the sanctuary. The church has
three altars in Baroque style. The retalbo of the central altar has been touched and
probably represent the original colors of the woodwork primaries of blue, red, green,
orange with gold leaf accents. These altars are unique for Latin inscriptions carved on roundels set in its read thin columns.
